Word on the street (and by "street" of course I mean
the information superhighway) is that Tiger Woods announced today he will be making his golf comeback from
image sex rehab early next month at The Masters.
"The major championships have always been a special
focus in my career and, as a professional, I think Augusta is where I
need to be, even though it's been a while since I last played," Woods
said in a Associated Press report.
In other news, executives for ESPN and CBS, the broadcasters at Augusta, have spent the rest of today jumping around and wildly high-fiving. To be sure, this will most likely break any previous TV ratings record golf ever had, and will probably be the first time Augusta has received a media access request from TMZ. But, as the Canadian Press points out, this tourney makes sense for the four-time champ to make his return to the spolight because "media credentials are limited regardless of who's
playing or what's in the news, and Augusta National has more control of
its tickets than any other golf tournament."
Critics point to the fact Woods really hasn't missed any tournaments that he hasn't skipped before, that missing the Masters would REALLY show he was sorry. Still, seeing as most of his sponsors have jumped off the S.S. Tiger like rats from the Titanic, perhaps this is the first time in eons that Woods is actually playing for the money. Either way, can't wait to see some of the spectator signs held up in the crowd...
There is no doubt that Tiger's first game back after a four month (rehab) will be the most watched golf game in the history of golf. Tiger is Golf, and without him the sport wouldn't have half as many spectators. I sincerely hope that he gets his home life back on track though.

This will be a difficult and very challenging tournament for Tiger. I am thrilled he has made the decision. He is golf as it is today. Jealousy, envy and hippocritic attitudes be stifled. All those individuals may as well give their heads a shake. The fun and public interest returns to the game at last. There will be those who welcome him back and there will be those who will continue to demean themselves by being critical on an individual asking for public forgiveness which in reality he doesn't have to do. Elin and Tiger should be left to their own personal resolutions and future commitments to each other. Sit back folks and enjoy without allowing this low class harrassment to develop and creap into the game by those who know very little about themselves much less Tiger and his unfortunate previous wrong doings. Go Tiger!!

I agree with the posted comment dated 03/17/10 at 11.31. This guy should have won a Emmy for his performance at that news conference and he is still doing it. Why Augusta, because of the controlled situation. This guy is just like his father, its in the blood, and if you think he will ever stop, I have a bridge I want to sell you..........

The media hyped this guy into super-stardom, then tore him apart because of his marital infidelities and are obviously hyping him once again......ho hum!!! There's no question that Tiger is a great golfer, history will dictate whether he's the "greatest". Golf will go on with or wthout Tiger and I will continue to play whether Tiger's around or not. I personally, have watched more golf since his self imposed exile and will probably watch less now that he's back. Let's face it, when Tiger plays, the network broadcasting the event forgets that there are other players in the field and simply show Tiger, Tiger, Tiger......

he his the persona for golf - the best - but he can't be in the same league as me, not too many men can, not even some priests, where thou shall not commit - when i said my vows i meant them plus i have too much respect for women in general -so lay off the guy and let him play

I agree with the March 17 comment. Quote "Elin and Tiger should be left to their own personal resolutions and future commitments to each other". Enough already aabout his personal life. Tiger Woods is golf. ESPN and will probably break the bank because of his comeback.
