One of the key tenets of building a successful basketball team is balance.

A team needs a balance of impact players to role players, of scorers to rebounders to assisters to stealers to defenders, of bigs to smalls and of skill to hustle. All of these various component pieces are then called on to mesh together to make for a single, coherent and lucrative whole. Much as it is when preparing the perfect meal or planning a party's guest list, balance is key to the whole thing, baby!

This is why the recent talk of LeBron James and Chris Bosh joining Dwyane Wade in Miami is so headache inducing; even if we were to allow for the very remote possibility that James AND Bosh leave their current teams, a three-headed tandem in Miami would not automatically make for the league's most dominant super-club.
