Dock Ellis and the LSD no-hitter
Just in case you were getting a little discouraged or your view of professional athletes has been getting tarnished -- whether due to proliferation of arrests or performance-enhancing drugs in recent years -- it's nice to hear a good ol' fashioned drug story with a happy ending. NYC-based sports apparel company No Mas recently released an animated short that documents the infamous 1970 no-hitter pitched by the Pittsburgh Pirates' Dock Ellis, in which Ellis claims he was tripping on acid the entire game. The video features animation by James Blagden and audio by Ellis himself.
Finally, an acid story that doesn't involve a guy telling me his world view or perspective on religion and/or Pink Floyd has changed, like, completely, man. Probably wouldn't want to try this with hockey, though.
