Tonight, the Worldwide Leader is debuting the short doc "Kings Ransom," about the Gretzky trade from Edmonton to LA, by Friday Night Lights director Peter Berg as part of the network's 30 for 30 series (30 docs celebrating ESPN's 30 years). Above is an excerpt and it looks like a lot of people get their say, as well as their chance at revisionist history (cough Pocklington! cough). We'll dive a bit deeper down this rabbit hole a bit more later when we review Stephen Brunt's new book on this episode of hockey history called Gretzky's Tears. I'm about three-quarters through it right now and already can recommend it to anyone looking to peel the onion that was hockey's biggest trade.
