Adam Crew's latest 'The Wind Up' has been let loose. Adam talks about the recent decline in Toronto Blue Jays success, and how it is hardly even a blip on the radar.

The root of the problem isn't all that mysterious anyway. The entire team seemed to unravel after eight innings of Tim Wakefield knuckleballs. Their confidence at the plate was thrown off along with their timing and they never seemed to get either one back on track.

In his latest '3 Off the Tee', Robert gets behind the scenes on the CN Rail / LPGA dealings, and how CN has decided it is time to play hardball.

But enough is enough apparently. Using the words "disappointing," and "frustrating," to characterize the current situation with the LPGA, CN vice-president of public affairs Mark Wallace says it is time the tour decided what it was doing with the Canadian Women's Open.

The day June 9th already has its fair share of historically significant tidbits. In 1934, it marked Donald Duck's first TV appearance and start of America's love affair with pantless water foul. On June 9th, 1870 Charles Dickens died of a brain hemorrhage. Back in 1534, Jaques Cartier stumbled upon the St. Lawrence river in Quebec. Oh, and Roman Emperor Claudius Nero committed suicide in 68 AD after the Roman Senate declared him to be a public enemy. And in 2009, it looks like NHL Emporer Gary Bettman will learn whether his beloved Phoenix-based money pit will be sold and relocated to Ontario.

It's official. Your 2009 Champions League winner is FC Barcelona, taking down a less-than impressive Manchester United side 2-0 in Rome. Barca are now the first Spanish team to pick up the triple trophy win of La Liga, Copa Del Rey and the Champs League. So congrats to the Catalan giants... who also win the jersey sponsor karma game with their UNICEF easily beating out Man. Utd's AIG.

Now everyone join hands and sing.

In his latest 'Dripping Dimes' column, Tim Chisholm touches on the now-fading dream of landing LeBron in New York. But the good news is that the possible back-up plan is a damn good one.

Kobe has an opt-out option in his contract this summer, and even before the club's recent troubles he was expected to exercise it so he could lock himself in to a longer, more lucrative deal.

After successfully dismantling and disposing of the Carolina Hurricanes to clinch the Eastern Conference title last night, Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby stepped up and grabbed the Prince of Wales trophy, causing many hockey purists to promptly soil themselves in superstitious shock. See, for the uninitiated, touching the conference title trophies (or the top regular season team's President's Trophy) is viewed as verboten. A curse. Big no-no. The thinking being that the Stanley Cup is the only trophy worth touching, and if you touch another, you jinx any chances of hoisting the hardware that really matters. But, what if both conference champs touched, hoisted and skipped in a circle with the Prince of Wales trophy and Clarence S. Campbell Bowl?

Zezel

As the conference finals roll on, seemingly determined to deliver us a repeat of last year's Cup finals (it all looked so wide open a mere month ago... remember Columbus? Me neither.), be sure to take a minute to send some good vibes, or prayers or whatever floats your boat, to retired NHLer Peter Zezel. The Star and others report today that the Toronto-born vet of seven NHL clubs is in hospital this week fighting for his life.

Zezel, 44, suffers from the blood disorder haemolytic anaemia and this week had to undergo chemo therapy and have his spleen removed. He's now reportedly in a coma.

Luke Fox has filed his latest for 'Quick Snap' and discusses the evolution of Ocho Cinco from its humble beginnings as a Chad Johnson.

But here's where it gets delicious: if Chad wants to go by his legal name, the league has said, OK, we'll let you play under your legal surname, "Ochocinco"—one word, how he (accidentally) wrote it out when he submitted the name-change paperwork in Broward County, Florida.

Jeff Mackie talks about the Calgary / Edmonton coach-off, and how Pat Quinn and his staff might be just what the Oilers need.

Quinn can be arrogant and stubborn, but he is above all else a sound hockey man with a winning background. Don't be fooled by his train wreck of a final season in Toronto. Instead, consider his entire tenure with the Maple Leafs.
